First and foremost Sol Realty’s team wishes all of you a healthful, happy and prosperous New Year 2020, albeit as belated as it may be.  In the final quarter of the past year steady sales of properties were witnessed across the board, all of which had one thing in common: a reasonable asking price. Most of this activity took place in the under $400K category which is the segment where most demand lies. The entry level segment was hot and should remain that way through 2020. The mid high end saw activity as well while, finally, an epic Playa Langosta beachfront home priced in the $2.45 million range waqs put under contract at the end of December (congratulations to the brokers taking part in that deal!). Could this be the start of another sales cycle of the beachfront luxury homes like what has happened in the past? If so, it’s probably a good time to get on board while one is able, because the next uptick will be substancial in our opinion. These are long term investments, so the increase in valuations will not be immediate, but given the finite nature of these it will just be a matter of time. Our recommendation has always been to buy and to hold 5-10 years before contemplating selling. Or better yet, buy and hold to infinity because they’re not making more anytime soon.
